the great Mini-Moo debate

By now, everybody knows that mini-moo brand dairy creamers do not *need* to be refrigerated. The outstanding issue, of course, is whether or not they *want* to be refrigerated.

Do Mini Moos want to be refrigerated.

Yes

No

It really makes you think...

It hate it when people end a sad story with "it really makes you think..."

It really doesn't. Because, unlike these idiots, I spend the bulk of my time thinking. It doesn't take a heart-warming documentary to kick-start my brain.

People are idiots.

My fat ass brother in law...

So we were sitting on my back deck tonight, and my brother-in-law (technically, my wife's brother-in-law) sat on one of my antique chairs and crashed right through the seat.

What a lardo.

It's funny because he's sitting here watching me post this. But there's still 3 bites of burger left on his plate, so he's not going anywhere. That should give me plenty of time to post this.

willful misuse of company resources

Surprisingly, the phrase "willful misuse of company resources" does not appear (in its entirety) anywhere on the Internet (as indexed by google) as of today. It seems like it should, to me.

Eventually, I suppose, this post will show up.

That's all.

motors

Motors are bad.

This week, my lawnmower, car, and blender all broke. Granted, the problem with the car was (likely) the alternator, and the problem with the blender was that the motor worked so well that it absolutely destroyed the little rubber dealy that connects it to the part on the bottom of the pitcher that's connected to the blades. In any event, it was a bad week for all things jake-owned and motor-related.

Although, I must admit, I'm not too upset that I can't mow the lawn.

so I got a new car...

Monday morning, as I was on my way to work, my car suddenly lost power while driving on I-85. The radio faded out, every light on my dashboard came on and then dimmed, and, most importantly, the car started slowing down. A lot. I was able to make it to the next exit and pulled off onto the side of the road before I completely lost power. Cursing the fact that I had power windows (which were now stuck in the "down" position), I took the two most valuable things from my car (my laptop and the stereo faceplate), called work to tell them I wouldn't be in, and tried to figure out what to do.

Since I don't really have a mechanic or anything (never having needed any major repairs since I moved to Atlanta), I wasn't sure what to do. I did, however, take note that I'd broken down about 500 feet away from carmax, and figured they had a service department, so I walked over there to, at the very least, make a decision inside a nice air-conditioned building.

Long story short, I wound up buying a new car instead of getting my other one fixed. The guy they use for towing happened to be there, and towed my car in for only $20. Carmax offered me a pretty good deal on my broken-down car, and several hours later, I drove out in a new (to me) 2000 Cavalier. It met the following strict "Jake new car" requirements:

  • It has Air Conditioning

  • It has cruise control

  • It has lower milage (~25000 miles)

  • It was relatively inexpensive

Here's a couple pictures:
